You Need a Study Permit If:

2. Your program is less than six months, but you plan to extend your studies while in Canada.
   If you think you might extend your program or transition to another one, it’s advisable to apply for a study permit from the beginning.


3. Your program is less than six months, but you want to work part-time on-campus while you study.
   In this case, you’ll need a study permit to be eligible for on-campus work.

You May Not Need a Study Permit If:

1. Your program is six months or shorter, and you don’t plan to extend it or work on-campus.


2. You are a family or staff member of a foreign representative to Canada accredited by the Government of Canada.
