Eligibility Criteria: To qualify, you need to fulfill the following criteria:
  1. Qualifying Business:
    • Create an innovative business with the potential to compete globally.

  2. Letter of Support:
    • Secure a letter of support from a designated organization.

  3. Language Requirements:
    • Demonstrate proficiency in English or French by meeting the Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 5 level in speaking, reading, listening, and writing.

  4. Settlement Funds:
    • Showcase financial stability by providing proof that you have enough funds to support yourself and your dependents upon arrival in Canada.
Qualifying Business Conditions
Ensure that, at the time of the commitment from a designated organization:
  • Each applicant holds 10% or more of the voting rights attached to all shares of the corporation.
  • Applicants and the designated organization jointly hold more than 50% of the total voting rights attached to all shares of the corporation.
  • At the time of receiving permanent residence, active and ongoing management of the business must happen in Canada, an essential part of the operations must occur in Canada, and the business must be incorporated in Canada.

  1. Contacting Designated Organizations:
    • Reach out to designated organizations to understand their support process.
  2. Pitching Your Idea:
    • Convince the organization that your business idea is worth supporting through in-person presentations or detailed business plans.
  3. Letter of Support:
    • Obtain a crucial letter of support from the designated organization, which is a key component of your application.
Language Requirements
  • Take a language test to meet the minimum CLB 5 level in English or French in speaking, reading, listening, and writing.
Financial Considerations
  • Prove financial stability by demonstrating that you have the funds to support yourself and your dependents.
Additional Benefits
  • While your permanent residence application is being processed, you can apply for a temporary work permit to kickstart your business in Canada.
