1. Duration of PGWP
The validity of your Post Graduation Work Permit (PGWP) is determined based on the length of your program of study. Here’s a breakdown of how the duration is calculated:

• If your program of study is between 8 months and 2 years in length, you may receive a PGWP for a period equal to the length of your program.
• If your program of study is two years or more, you can obtain a PGWP for up to three years.


2. Considerations for Distance Learning Programs
It’s important to note that the nature of your program of study can impact your eligibility for a PGWP:
• If more than 50% of the program of study’s total courses are completed by distance learning, the program may reasonably be considered a distance-learning program. In such cases, the applicant is ineligible for a post-graduation work permit.
• If less than 50% of the program of study’s total courses are completed by distance learning, a post-graduation work permit may be issued. The validity should be based on the length of the program, as confirmed by the eligible Designated Learning Institution (DLI), including credits earned from both in-class and distance-learning courses.
