Skilled Work Experience
For Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Worker Program applicants, you must have relevant work experience.
Work experience should be in specific National Occupational Classification (NOC) TEER categories.
Paid work, including wages or earned commissions, is considered, while volunteer work or unpaid internships do not count.
The work experience must be continuous and meet specific criteria, such as minimum hours per week.

While there’s no formal education requirement for the Canadian Experience Class and Federal Skilled Trades Program, applicants can earn additional points for Canadian or foreign education.
LanguageĀ
Proficiency in English or French is essential.
Applicants must take approved language tests to assess their writing, reading, listening, and speaking skills.
Minimum scores are required to be eligible, and test results should be entered in your Express Entry profile.

The Federal Skilled Worker Program uses a point-based system to assess applicants.

The current pass mark is 67 points.

Applicants must demonstrate that they have sufficient financial resources to settle in Canada.
Exemptions apply if you have a valid job offer from a Canadian employer or are legally able to work in Canada.

The Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS)
Express Entry candidates are ranked in the pool using the Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS), a points-based system. Top-ranking candidates in the pool are invited to apply for permanent residence during rounds of invitations.
